Anyone can explain to me Ushi networking etiquette?

Hello everybody, it's the first time I'm part of a chinese online network like UShi so I would like to ask some suggestions.
I'm pretty active on Linkedin business network, and there, if you want to connect to an unknown person, you also have the option of a direct contact if you are part of the same Group (like this one for example).
It seems to me that Ushi does not give you this option: you have to choose between shared jobs/schools etc. or you have to have the direct e-mail address of the person.
I would like to get in contact with more people on Ushi but I do not know which is the proper etiquette, 'cause I do not know if it's a good idea to flag the "classmate or colleague" option if that's not true.
Anyone can please give me some details on how Ushi works on networking with unknow people?
